Nelda Louise Crockett

Our Dear Beloved Mother, Nelda Louise Crockett Has returned to her Heavenly Home on July 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Born August 26, 1941, to Parents Rodney Brown Crockett and Ila Eltra Cope Crockett who have preceded her in passing along with two brothers, Rodney Lamar Crockett (Renae) and Lanny James Crockett (Lynnette) and one son, Ross Neal Peterson and one grandson. Cortis Houston Hamilton. Surviving her are sisters, Laree Call (Don), Lynette Crockett and brother David Larue Crockett (Leburta) and 5 children,14 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 1 great grandson and 3 great granddaughters. She married H. Wayne Peterson in Mesa AZ at the Mesa Arizona Temple on August 24. 1960 and her surviving children from that union are, Larry Wayne Peterson, Julie Peterson, Leon Ray Peterson, Dean Lynn Peterson (Tamrah ), and M. Scott Peterson (Deena). She passed away at the home of H. Wayne Peterson, her loving caregiver at her side. Nelda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in many capacities throughout her life, the last calling she served was as an early morning Seminary teacher for many years. She loved the gospel and loved sharing it with those around her and was always a good example to those she taught. She attended Gilbert High School in Gilbert Arizona where her dad was a teacher. She was active in school as a Pom girl and honor student and enjoyed volleyball as well, she also participated in the Miss Gilbert Pageant where she received a trophy as the runner up. Nelda enjoyed crafting and anything she made was done to perfection. She also enjoyed sewing and played softball, oil painting, playing and listening to piano but most of all she loved gardening, and most times could be found outside attending to her Roses, at one time she had over 200 different varieties of Roses at her house on Rosewood ln. in Willcox She Loved her Roses!!! her grandkids will fondly remember her abundance of strawberries. She also enjoyed flower arranging and helped at the local florist shop for several years and made arrangements for several weddings as well. Nelda also became a business owner and owned a candy/gift shop, Loving Expressions in Willcox Az. Nelda will be greatly missed by many and remembered fondly for her loving kindness and sweet spirit and her immense love for her family, friends and neighbors. She was the best Mother a person could have, and her memory will always be cherished. Funeral Services will be 11:30 am on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Willcox Chapel, 900 S. Encanto Street, Willcox, Arizona 85643. Viewing will be in the relief society room starting at 10:00 am. Interment and Dedication of the Grave will be Friday, 1:00 pm at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201.
