Jean"Jeanne" Marie Douglas

Jean “Jeanne” Marie Douglas of Willcox passed away at home Thursday morning, January 23, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on December 1, 1949, to Ralph Roosevelt Robertson and Eveyln Lottie Gibson Robertson. Jeanne was a graduate of East High School in Cheyenne and was Beautician/hairdresser in Cheyenne for twenty-five years and was an instructor at the Beauty College in Cheyenne. In August of 1993 she and her husband Dan moved to Willcox and purchased Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary. Jeanne would be seen working alongside her husband at funerals and memorial services. Jeanne was a longtime member of the Lambda Chi Omega AZ Beta Sorority, AZ TOPS #492 and a longtime member of the Willcox United Methodist Church and most recently serving on the Trustees Board. On April 24, 1978, in Middleton, Idaho, she married Dan Douglas who survives her. She is also survived by her sons Garrett (Tiffany) and Alex (Jessica) and Mark (Cheyenne) Amalong who she and Dan love and consider their adopted son. Jeanne is also survived by her grandchildren Gaige, Jayden, Kambryn, Brenndon, Davianna, Kanyon and Grayson for which she loved and cared for very much. Her sister Joyce Richmond of Willcox also survives along with her lifelong friend who she considers her sister Becky Brosius of Cheyenne and one of her closet friend Rachel Towle along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne was a kindhearted person and would do anything for anyone. Her involvement with the sorority was very important to her, especially at Holiday House, she would work on her holiday house projects all year long and that was her highlight every year. She was a devoted housewife, loving partner, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Evelyn, her sister Beverly Huston and her brother-in-law Phil Huston, her brother -in-law Jim Richmond and most recently on July 20, 2024, her and Dan’s devoted companion Eddie Haskell. A Life Celebration will be on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Westlawn Chapel where the LCO Sorority will offer a rose in her honor. Memorial Services will be Friday, January 31, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am at the Willcox United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow. Contributions may be made to either the Willcox Humane Society or the Salvation Army. The family would like to thank the entire Willcox and surrounding Communities for their love and support which has been very overwhelming. Jeanne wanted to make sure that we thank Marti and Dan with HCI Ambulance service who came to her aid on January 12, 2025, and who facilitated her being flown to St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson which we did not know would be some of her last days with us. Jeanne also wanted to make sure we thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Josephs who provided her with excellent care. And one nurse Maricruz who we as a family really came to appreciate and love. We would also like to thank the Charles Wm Leighton Hospice, Jr, and the Willcox United Methodist Church. And also, our many friends and family who continue to support us. Jeanne was laid to rest in the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 .
