Bonnie Sue Martin Keller

Bonnie Sue Martin Keller, 61, passed away in her home in Iola, Texas, on Sunday, September 3, 2023. She was born in Willcox, Arizona, May 22, 1962, to Tom Lee and Elaine Owen Martin. Bonnie grew up on the Martin Ranch with her parents and 3 sisters, Debra, Cindy and Audrey. Life on the ranch was reminiscent of a simpler time, but certainly not slow and easy. Bonnie and her family worked hard everyday and would do anything for anyone they could. They opened their home and served up a meal to all that walked in the door. That ethic traveled with Bonnie for the rest of her life. Bonnie attended Willcox High, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Keller, on February 10, 1979. Lloyd’s job carried the family a number of places before settling in Iola, Texas to continue growing and raising their family together. Bonnie and Lloyd had 11 children, the first 4 born in Arizona, and the final 7 born in Texas. Bonnie spent her life being a full time homemaker and mother, often times adding a night job to her busy life. She’s remembered fondly by many “adopted children” that were welcomed into her home any time they needed a place to be loved. Many times she had a grandchild or several in her home. There was always an open door, always voices to be heard, and always food to gather round. After a long battle with cancer, Bonnie returned home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She spent her final days surrounded by the family God entrusted to her, those same loved voices reading her Bible to her. Though we know Heaven has welcomed a very special person, our hearts still feel the sorrow. Bonnie was reunited in Heaven with her father, Tom Lee Martin, her sister, Audrey Crank Martin, her son, Jared Jensen Keller, her husband, Lloyd Kerlin Keller, and many other loved ones before her. She leaves behind her two sisters, Debra Boss and Cindy Allaire, and her mother, Elaine Owen Martin, as well as many others who knew and loved her. Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her children and her grandchildren, Kerlin and wife Emily Keller (June, Thomas, Jakob, Nathan) of Franklin, Texas, Kristin Keller of Bryan, Texas, Justin and wife Kaci Keller (Reagan, Rhett) of Raceland, Louisiana, Brandon and wife Jennifer Keller (Christopher, Andrew, Alexis, Dailynn, Briley) of Buda, Texas, Trevor and wife Kristin Keller (Charlie Wayne due February 2024) of Terrell, Texas, Troy and wife Brianna Keller (Hayden, Jax, Charlotte) of Brenham, Texas, Colter Keller (Logan, Lane) of Brenham, Texas, Shaina and husband Rick Turner (Jameson) of Iola, Texas, Sheldon Keller (Audrey) of Iola, Texas, and Benton and wife Destiny (Bannon) of Iola, Texas. Her children described her as selfless, loving, giving, stubborn, a mother, a wife, a strong woman, special, big-hearted, a great listener, giver of brutally honest advice, independent, sacrificial, and a fighter until the end. The prayer of her grandchildren is that all grandchildren will not forget their grandparents, and give them the precious gift of their time and love. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Rhino Ridge, 3700 Moonlight Road, Willcox, Arizona 85643 with food to follow.
