Andrew"Andy" Lee

Andrew “Andy” B. Lee Born December 2, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. Died December 5, 2018 in Cochise, Arizona. Kindness exuded from Andy—who thought more like, acted more like, and certainly looked more like Jesus than most anyone you will ever come across. He was a solid man among men. He is preceded in death by his father Robert E. Lee and mother Mary Ann Ryan Lee. He is survived by his loving wife and partner, Mickie of 42 years; son A.J.; brother Robert; brother-in-law Bobby (Merci) Rivera; sisters-in-law Mary Ellen (Rudy) Rodriquez; Belen (Don) Carbajal; Adella (Frank) Coronado; and Betty Posada; plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Andy and Mickie moved to this valley 31 years ago and he always wondered why it took them so long to get here. He LOVED life. He loved his family and friends and clients (who always became friends). AND he loved his work. He could do anything—no exaggeration. Andy could fix anything but the crack of dawn. As partners they built a business that helped their community—from beautiful finished carpentry work to being on-call at a moments’ notice for a broken water pipe or a blown-off roof. Andy shined in all he did, and it did not go unnoticed by his clients who made him special treats which he accepted gratefully. Andy enjoyed shooting pool and loved the challenge he faced with the friends he met all those nights at TJ’s Bar. He sure appreciated everyone who showed up to see him at this benefits. He was blown away. Though the words were hard to come to his lips by this time—if you listened and thought about those words—you would get what he meant. The day after his benefit at the VFW, while on his way to his final radiation escapade, he said, “It rained and it rained and I got so wet, it blew me away.” It was his way of saying “my cup runneth over.” He was happy. Mickie is receiving so many loving thoughts from friends and family around the world—that’s a measure of a good good man. We are all left with his unconditional love and these words from Andy’s lips, “Don’t waste a second. And tell the people you love, that you love them.” There will be a memorial in Andy’s honor at the VFW in Sunsites on January 20th, 2019 from 1 to 6pm.
