Robert A. Doberstein

Robert Alan Doberstein was born on March 15, 1948, to Arthur and Mildred Doberstein in New Richmond, Wisconsin. He was the oldest of 2 children. He peacefully passed away at our home in Sunsites, Arizona, on February 25, 2026, at the age of seventy-seven. On May 26, 1979, he married me, Carol Antosh. We had 2 sons and 3 daughters, and we were blessed with 47 years together. Some of the highlights of our life were taking family vacations across the US and spur-of-the-moment trips--not knowing our destination till we got there. Dad started out farming in Wisconsin until 1998 when we moved to Willcox, Arizona. There he farmed a variety of crops. It was a family operation with all the children helping. Dad loved the challenge of building up the soil and farming with minimal chemicals. He was ahead of his time with sustainable farming practices and learning the science behind it. In 2015, we relocated to Weiser, Idaho. He continued farming, but on a smaller scale. Robert and his brother, Richard, were lifelong partners in each farming venture. In 2022, we purchased a home in Sunsites, Arizona. We enjoyed spending part of the last four winters back in the beautiful high desert. He was a steady, hard-working father and husband. He enjoyed working in the shop repairing farm equipment and there were few things that he could not fix. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, listening to them, playing with them, and fixing their toys. His Bible was well worn, and we trust him to a God that loved him far more than we did. Those left to treasure his memory are his wife, Carol, children: Katie and James Schmidt, Fleetwood, PA, Jackie and Tom Isaac, Plains, KS, Daniel and Sue Doberstein, Pearce, AZ, Tom and Mikayla Doberstein, Weiser, ID, and Joanie and Ross Nikkel, Vale, OR; 21 special grandchildren; his brother, Richard Doberstein, Weiser, ID; a brother-in-law, Jim and Kristi Antosh, Helena, MT; 3 nephews, several cousins, many neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law. . A visitation will from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Mountain Valley Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Mountain Valley Mennonite Church with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Church Cemetery.
