Nate Phifer

Nathan D. Phifer November 26, 1944 – July 25, 2026 Nathan "Nate" D. Phifer passed away at home on July 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and unforgettable personality. Nate was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1944 to Bernice and Clifford Phifer. A true country boy at heart, he spent his early years on Coeur d’Alene Lake, raising animals and playing on the water. In his preteens, Nate and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Even at a young age, his work ethic and devotion to family shone through; while working as a bellhop at the Grand Canyon Hotel, he saved enough money to buy his mother her very first automatic washing machine. Nate made lifelong friends wherever he went, maintaining deep connections that dated as far back as middle school and his time at West High School in Phoenix, where he graduated. In his twenties, Nate became a skilled electrician through the Phoenix Chapter of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He later followed his entrepreneurial spirit to own and operate Nate’s Auto Repair and Wrecking Yard. It was there that he found his niche, building a respected name for himself across the valley. In the summer of 1996, Nate moved to San Simon, Arizona. Returning to his country roots, he combined his love for "junking" with farming to create the "Phifer Pharm," where he proudly lived out the rest of his days. Anyone who knew Nate knew he was spirited, independent, self-driven, and deeply determined—some might even say stubborn. He had more than a twinkle in his eye; he had a fire that lit up whenever he grinned. He was a larger-than-life personality who loved to give the underdog an opportunity to change their circumstances. Believing firmly in helping those down on their luck, Nate lent a helping hand to almost everyone reading this today. Because of his outgoing personality and incredible sense of humor, people who met him just once never forgot him. He was a pillar of his communities both in Phoenix and San Simon; if you didn’t know Nate personally, you certainly knew of him. Nate will be dearly missed by his family, his lifelong friends, and the communities he served. He leaves behind his wife Becky Dollar Phifer, his children Brandy Reddoch, Hyatt Phifer, Torey Cranford (Randy), Angela Watts (Scott), Nathan Bowlin (Jaime), Nathan Savage (Isabelle), 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. . At his request no services will be held.
