Larry Beck

Larry Beck of Cochise passed away near Benson tragically on March 16, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born in Hustisford, Wisconsin on July 31, 1948, to George Lawrence Beck Sr. and Ruth Betty Poser. As a young man Larry became heavily involved in showing Poland China hogs and competed at major national shows, including the National Barrow Show in Austin, Minnesota. Over the years he earned several national titles, including Grand Champion Poland China Boar and Grand Champion Poland China Gilt. These achievements helped to establish Larry’s reputation within the breeding industry and created many opportunities for his future. In 1963, Larry relocated with his parents from Wisconsin to Arizona. They established a new farm and gradually expanded their operations to include the raising of hogs, cattle, and other livestock. He became very involved in the local agriculture community, helping youth and supporting county fairs. He developed custom feed blends and specialty supplements like Oxy Kick, Gut Buster and Home Run, which became popular with 4-H and FFA families. His feed program helped countless kids win county, state and even national titles. Larry operated one of the first natural pork farms in the country. Larry served several livestock councils, ran fair departments, and helped develop carcass shows to teach kids about real world livestock production. Larry was a National Pork All American in 1983. Larry was a member of St. Judes Thaddius Catholic Church. He is survived by his children Tanya (Bruce) White and L.D. (Cindy) Beck and his grandchildren Stephany, Scott, Jeremy and Amanda. Larry is also survived by his great grandchildren Ryleigh, Aspen, Stella, Chanelle, Brooke, Adalynn, and Liam and his brother Bob (Lisa) Beck. Preceding him in death was his parents and his wife Betsy. A Celebration of Life/ Memorial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Curry Farms. a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Judes Catholic Church with private burial in Pearce Cemetery on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
