Harold LaMar Skinner

Harold LaMar Skinner of Willcox passed into eternal rest Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was 91 years old. Harold was born on November 30, 1934, in Thatcher AZ. He married sweetheart Nel Hoopes on March 26, 1959, in the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple. They moved to Willcox in 1963. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in a variety of calling such as a Sunday school teacher, a priesthood leader, a counselor in the Bishopric, and then as the Bishop of the Willcox Ward. He later served as a High Counselor for the Saint David Stake. He loved the church and was dedicated to service. Harold was a prominent member in the community and managed the Valley National Bank for many years. After retiring from the bank, he sold insurance for Blake and Carpenter Insurance agency. While working in the community, he met many people and now considers many of them, his dear friends. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Moser) Skinner of Willcox, who stood by his side through his long illness. Also, his four sons Hal Skinner of Thatcher, Rick Skinner of Thatcher, Dennis Skinner of Snowflake, and Brad Skinner of Mesa, and one daughter Marsha Skinner of Standwood, Washington. He is also survived by one Brother Melvin Skinner of Safford. He is survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. Harold is proceeded in death by his eternal companion Nel (Hoopes) Skinner, his dear second wife, Carolyn, (Radmall) Skinner, His parents, Frank and Ada Skinner, 12 brothers and one sister. Harold loved his family. He enjoyed working with his family, taking care of cattle and horses and teaching his family responsibility and hard work. Harold LaMar Skinner’s funeral services will be held on August 1, 2026, in the Willcox LDS Chapel. His viewing will begin at 10.00 AM and the funeral service will start at 11:00 AM. He will be buried at 3 PM at the Thatcher Cemetery.
