Delbert Lee Humphries

Delbert Lee Humphries went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 5, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following a lengthy illness. He was 57 years old. Delbert was born on November 2, 1968, in Casa Grande, Arizona, to Earl N. Humphries and Juanita (Haynes) Humphries. He grew up and attended school in Willcox, Arizona, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of duty and service to others. Delbert devoted many years of his life to serving his community. He worked as a firefighter for both the City of Willcox and the Willcox Rural Fire Department and later as a part-time tow truck driver for T&O Enterprises. In the 1990s, he served as an EMT for the Sunsites and Bowie Fire Districts. He later became a 911 dispatcher for Graham County and was an active member of Graham County Search and Rescue. While living in Safford, Delbert met and married his beloved wife, Rhonda. In the early 2000s, they moved to Stroud, Oklahoma, where Delbert worked as a dispatcher and volunteer firefighter and participated in the county tornado watch program. After suffering a series of mini-strokes, Delbert made the difficult decision to resign from his position, believing it would be safer for others—an act that reflected his integrity and care for those he served. Later, Delbert and Rhonda made their home in Bristow, Oklahoma. Delbert enjoyed creative and hands-on hobbies, including making rings from coins and spoons, woodworking, ham radios, fishing, and metal detecting. He found joy in creating, learning, and sharing his interests with others. Preceded in Death By His parents and grandparents; his brother, Donald Humphries (September 26, 2025); and his niece, Shawna Marie Humphries. Survived By His wife of 25 years, Rhonda Humphries of Bristow, Oklahoma. His brothers Carl Humphries of Illinois, Lonnie Davis of Tucson, Arizona, and Earl (Karen) Humphries of Huachuca City, Arizona. His sisters Marlene (Jim) Berry of Michigan and Debra (Douglas) Ward of Arizona. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews. His longtime friend Barry (Lana) Thompson of Sierra Vista, Arizona. And Adam Hernandez of Edmond, Oklahoma. Celebration of Life Saturday, March 14, 2026 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m. LDS Church Willcox, Arizona Family and friends are invited to gather and share food, music, and memories as we honor and celebrate Delbert’s life. Delbert will be remembered for his dedication to service, his creativity, and the quiet strength with which he cared for others.
