Charlene Anna Skinner

Charlene Anna Skinner, 91, a lifelong resident of Willcox, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, August 30, 2026. Funeral services will be held at the Willcox LDS Chapel, 900 Encanto Street, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Date of the funeral is currently pending. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. Charlene was born to Charlie and Annie Clarence and was welcomed by her brothers, Bill & Buddy, and sister, Ruth. Through her sister Ruth, Charlene met Al Skinner. They were married on September 5, 1951, and raised their five children in Willcox. The Skinner family was very involved in the community and their church, always finding ways to serve and help others. Charlene worked for the Department of Agricultural- Farm Services in Willcox and, after retiring, she and Al served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Toronto Canada Temple and later in the Mesa Temple and The Gila Valley Temple. Charlene was a devoted mother and grandmother, and family was everything to her. She loved having her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her and cherished every minute she could spend with them. Her door was always open, and there was usually a good game of dominoes, something to eat, something sweet, and plenty of love to go around. Serving others was simply who Charlene was. She was always bringing someone bread, a peach cobbler, or a meal, and never seemed to think twice about it. She had a way of making people feel loved and cared for. Her love for her Savior was at the heart of everything she did. She tried to live her life in a way that would exemplify Him—serving others, loving unconditionally and looking for ways to lift those around her. She didn't just talk about her faith; she lived it every day. In these last few years, she especially delighted in bringing candy to church for the little children. It was just one of the many small ways she found joy in making others happy and sharing the love she felt for her Savior. Charlene’s prayer has been answered, and she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Al, along with her parents, sister, brothers, daughter-in-law Sandy, and many other family and friends she has missed dearly. She is survived by her five children: Dan (Michelle) Skinner of Gilbert, Randy (Wendy) Skinner of Tennessee, Toby Skinner of Gilbert, Debbie (Ron) Ellis of Willcox, and Joey (Lisa) Skinner of Utah; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Her family and the many people whose lives she touched will miss her kindness, her cheerful smile, her warm spirit, her service, and most of all, the love she gave so freely.
