Barry Sherman

Born on April 10, 1950 Barry Gene Sherman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home in Richland, Az. on Friday, December 20, 2024. He was 74 years old. Born to Branson Lebbeus Sherman and Geneva Sherman who proceeded him in death. Barry grew up with a strong sense of family and a determination to build a life filled with hard work, integrity, and love. He was one of seven siblings, including Wilbur “Buddy” and Judy, who survive him, and Doris, Betty, Russell, and Gerald Sherman, who preceded him in death. In March of 1973, Barry married Judy Sherman. Together, raising four children: Rick Sherman, Mike Sherman, Cindy Sherman, and Sam Sherman, Barry’s legacy lives on through his 11 grandchildren—Collecia, Calli, Katie, Jessica, Jake, Clay, Kayla, Karlee, Cassidy, Logan, Brooklyn and two great-grandchildren, Rowdy Lane and Morgan McKenzie. Barry was a true cowboy at heart and a skilled welder by trade. He lived by the values of hard work, self-reliance, and doing things right the first time. Rising early each morning, Barry could often be found working on one of his many projects, always striving to improve his home and land. His tireless work ethic and dedication to his craft inspired all who knew him, especially his family. He found joy in the simple yet profound moments of life—Working with horses, tending to his animals, fixing things, and sharing stories with his family. He instilled in his children and grandchildren not only a love for animals but also an appreciation for nature and a commitment to excellence in all endeavors. Barry’s family fondly remembers him as a fun-loving father who loved his family deeply. He was always teaching them to uphold the Sherman name. The values he imparted—resilience, dedication, and the importance of family—will be carried forward for generations to come. In the words of his family, “We are grateful for all the good things Dad brought to our lives—a strong work ethic, self-reliance, a love for animals, the outdoors, and a desire to be good at the things we do. We are especially thankful to Mom for picking our Dad.” Barry Gene Sherman leaves behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A private family service will be held to celebrate Barry’s life at his home in Richland on December 28th at 1:00 PM. The family asks that you honor Barry by taking a moment to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with loved ones, and carry forward his values of hard work and kindness. Rest easy, Barry. You were truly one of a kind.
